OCTOBER

FREAK SCENE - DUSA - FRI 26TH OCT

Unfortunately The Leatherettes are unable to play this event. Never fear we have the fabulous electro-industrial punk band Hanney playing live! Plus special guest DJs Ben and Proffessa JB.

"Hanney was formed by brothers Paul and Brian Harris along with ex-bass player Scaife in Dundee,Scotland. Originaly, the band started out as an indie band(think Stone roses etc.),but the bands direction quickly changed with the arrival of Trun and Jim in 2002 and since then the band has been in a state of constant musical evolution. Due to the varied musical influences in the band(we listen to everything from hip-hop,dance to metal etc.) we adopted an "anything goes" attitude towards writing our music, which we feel is contributing greatly to our sound. Most of the songs have been composed using everything at our disposal(Roland 505 synth, samplers turntables etc.) ,which has led to what we feel is an edgy blend of electronic madness with chunky guitars and phat beats to keep it moving along. As for playing live, we love it and do so as often as we can. For us, thats what it's all about. We don't know exactly how to describe our sound or live performance,so here's what one local reviewer has to say about us- HANNEY - "Electro-industrial punk band that play both separately and mix the two in huge wedges of floor-shaking delivery with a singer who, in concert, really commands your attention as he hollers and flies through a selection of songs that range from snarling punk with attitude to anarcho electro-punk with an industrial EBM backbone that will have your speakers shaking in their foundations or the live dancefloor on its feet and ready to burn." -Andy G. (www.deadearnest.btinternet.co.uk) Not a bad description. So check back or contact us about gigs and look out for some new recordings coming soon. Also, check out oor other mysapce. it's got stuff on it...........ken.(you know) "

JUNE

ELECTRONIC SESSIONS - WITH BINARY ZERO / ONE CLICK CORVETTE / BEACHES OF THE PROUD - FRI 8TH JUNE

Binary Zero started back in 2001. Consisting of Stuart Foxwell, a PC and a brutally mangled Guitar. With all the elements in place Binary Zero was born and soon started producing a very different sound from what was and is. Mixing Fat Bass lines with Distorted Guitar, Crazy high pitch lead lines with off beat drum patterns, the end result is not for the faint hearted.

"Musical Scientist" - Glasswerk Glasgow
"Brutal" - Alternative Nation
"holocaust of controlled noise, 8/10" - www.gomusicstore.com
"Jaw Dropping Abstract Dance Music for the Warped Generation" - Skinny Mag

One Click Corvette consist of Mark Brownlie & Phil Murdock who met in 2004 through a mutual appreciation of music at King Tuts, Glasgow watching Hondo Maclean perform. Citing influences from many different genres including rock, electro, breaks, metal & big beat, One Click Corvette have decided to not force themselves down any one particular route. Instead, they write what comes naturally to them and produce each track for itself. An altogether more chilled out sound has arisen, but there are also tracks that have that certain dance floor vibe to them.

"Beaches of the Proud are an electronic music project formed by Dave Webster, who is also the Guitarist/Synthist/Vocalist from Glasgow band The Makos. It started off as a side project from The Makos, containing songs that didn't really fit in with the direction we were going, and also as a sneaky page to secretly big us up. However it kind of snowballed, and after I got some great feedback on the music and playing the songs live, I've now turned Beaches into a regular live act, with visuals and everything. If you've seen/heard of Beaches before, I really recommend you come and see a few live shows, as I work very hard to make each show as "live" as possible, and different to the last one, which involves new songs, different versions of old songs, and new segues. It's mostly improvisation based, so sometimes even I don't totally know whats going to happen."

JANUARY

ELECTRONIC SESSIONS - WITH BABYSHAKER (LIVE) AND CLEDUS SNOW - WED 31ST JAN

With Cledus Snow of AndNotOr Records / Unit Recordings and Dundee's Babyshaker live...

"Babyshaker – This energetic baby shaking producer had me fooled into thinking his set would launch into an assault of heavy breaks and glitchcore!(not that this isn't his scene, as the man knows how to break!) After all he was on last and the audience would be starting to plan their clubbing night moves, wanting something lively as a send off. Certainly his sound was a fast paced one, but not too aggressive, progressing through some intelligent breaks and glitched electronica, full of wicked samples. Always generating heaps of energy his bass ridden breaks could quite easily be listened to at home, without the urge to go 'pure mental' and mug someone. Itelligent glitchcore? Quite possibly, as his crisp production created from the studio was now taken to the live stage and sounded great. If only the night lasted longer.." - Tronic Review
