ELECTRONIC SESSIONS - WITH SALON BORIS (DJ/HYBRID SET) AND UNKNOWN FORCES OF EVERYDAY LIFE (LIVE) - WED 29TH NOV
Salon Boris have released their debut album 'I AM THE DRUG' on U DISCS records in September 2006 in the UK and in Japan.
The album is a double CD digipack, with the second disc being a remix CD, The featuring exclusive remixes from Roger (mate records), Linus Loves, Vector Lovers, Mash, the Nanobots and de-Fault djs.
Their last single, the brilliant double A sided Bride of Boris / Everybodys talkin about Retro receive extensive airplay on National Radio One (Steve Lamaq, Chris Coco, Rob DaBank), and airplay now beginning over 4 states in the USA including, Los Angeles, California and New York, resulting in them being listed in the influential AandR worldwide circular.
They have previously appeared live in the SLAM tent at the T in the Park festival, headlined gigs around the country, appeared on the BBC TV 'music show' recorded a Radio Scotland session for Vic Galloway, receieved Radio One airplay and 4 weeks of radio play listing on XFM and Beat 106 amongst others.

Back for a brief visit after his move to Landon we're chuffed to present Translation resident Architeq (live) with Scot Donald on V drums. DJ support from ANdNotOr's Aleksandr Jurczyk. Aleksandr will be back next year to do a live set. Good stuff.
The Architeq sound is a mixture of rugged, spliced, stuttering dubby edits with bursts of old spring reverb tanks, fat analogs, wobbling tape manipulations and lazy off-beats with hints of old school hip hop, dub, jazz and electro.

Forging an ardent, abominable conduit through livid, vociferous guitar-driven electro, Edinburgh's ace punk-funk racketeers Xvectors pummel a fervid art-rock amalgam. Whatever the hell that means. Their 2005 debut 7” single – which included an obstreperous reworking of Chicago House classic ‘Your Love' – sold out in days and discharged chaos in its wake. Touted by the likes of Erol Alkan (Trash) and Tim Sweeney (DFA), Xvectors are one of Scotland's most arresting new bands. Their staggering live performances, meanwhile, conjoin clammy nightclub gratification with feverish, dark pop premonitions to shattering, compelling effect.

ELECTRONIC SESSIONS - WITH MAGIC DADDY (LIVE) AND HESELTINE - WED 16TH AUG
For our first gig at the Rio we are delighted to be joined by Glasgow based musician Magic Daddy [OSCARR / stuff Records]. It's glitch-bitch-step-pop-house, check out the tunes on his myspace at the link below. With support from robbo and guest DJ Heseltine [Bass Invaders].
"I'm a Glasgow-based musician and producer. I record music in a new sub-genre I've invented, called glitch-bitch-step-pop-house. I've been doing this for a few years now, and some stuff's happened in the last year or so, with a release last summer on Optimo nightclub's Oscarr label, The Black Rabbit Whorehouse EP Vol 1, a double A-side with tracks by me on one side (Microgoth and Miscreant, available for download on this page). It was my first release, and it got good reviews and coverage in mags like The Wire and DJ.
I also did a remix last year for Australian electro-pop producer, and one-time mash-up maestro, Dsico That No-Talent Hack. It appeared on his Fool EP, which featured 4 new tracks of his and a load of bonus remixes.
And OUT NOW is my second release proper, on Glasgow label stuffrecords. It's the Stuff004 EP, and has 3 Magic Daddy tracks. It's available in Rub-a-Dub in Glasgow, from Boomkat , and from the stuffrecords online store. "
